Jason Zajac Discusses Wearable Technology Designs
at University of San Francisco/UC Berkeley
June 17, 2015 – Jason Zajac, Vice President of Sales for MBK Tape Solutions, presented to the University of San Francisco/ UC Berkeley, Master of Transitional Medicine (MTM) team about the latest stick to skin adhesives they engineer as well as the multi-layer lamination methods MBK has pioneered for mounting medical devices to the body. “It is amazing the people I meet and the technologies that are being developed to help people become more aware of their body and to prevent and treat chronic illness’ by ways of monitoring through wearable devices. Through MBK’s partnership with leading Universities as well as working with some of the brightest entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley we have become leaders in finding ways to adhere wearable devices to all parts of the human body for extended lengths of time”.
MBK continues to realize very healthy growth due to our expanded reach in the medical arena. Much of our focus has been centered around stick to skin applications where we can create unique die cut solutions that affix a device to the body. “MBK has the ability to customize almost any tape and flexible material into custom constructions to meet the toughest wearable conditions. Our experience with everything from diabetic monitoring devices to sports fitness wearables gives us the breadth of knowledge to see so many different skin conditions to help us quickly fine tune a design that works across a gambit of life conditions.” says Jason Zajac.

About University of San Francisco, MTM Program
The University of San Francisco UCSF and UC Berkley have developed a capstone program for their Master’s students called the Masters of Transitional Medicine. The Master of Transitional Medicine (MTM) program links the Department of Bioengineering at UC Berkeley with the Department of Bioengineering and Therapeutic Sciences at UCSF, and is designed to train students in applying transitional research and engineering approaches to solve fundamental problems in healthcare delivery. The master’s program draws on the unique expertise and technological resources available at the two institutions to provide trainees with the tools necessary to address real world problems in a creative, interdisciplinary team setting.
