The past two years have seen supply chain disruptions as never before. Businesses across the globe are experiencing shortages of chemicals, materials, plant closures, workforces, and much more that were previously thought improbable in our lifetime. Raw material and supply constraints and logistics in conjunction with a significant increase in demand have made the supply chain volatile.  That being said, we are experiencing unprecedented delays at nearly every step of the procurement, delivery, and manufacturing process.

The Trickle-down Effect

At the beginning of 2021, tropical storm Uri had a steadfast and unexpected negative impact on the shipping and delivery of chemical components used in adhesives and other raw materials that are commonplace in our facility. As a result, a trickle-down effect is now being seen across this manufacturing space. Most suppliers have declared Force Majeure, and placed customers on material allocations. In the face of adversity, our suppliers have made every effort to transparently communicate these delays to us, and in turn, we wish to communicate the same message to our customers.

As the year progresses, we are seeing further delays in delivery lead times. We are still navigating and combating the volatile material market.  We understand and empathize with the frustration that accompanies these delays and are working around the clock to continue to be creative and offer alternatives wherever we can. The effect of the law of supply and demand can be felt in full force and these unforeseen delays are predicted to continue through the end of 2021 and into early 2022.

As a result, our lead times will likely continue to be extended through the end of the year. MBK continues to strive for excellence and meeting deadlines despite these supply-chain challenges. We will continue to assign ship dates based on information at hand and will monitor, assess, and inform you should these dates change
